Case Study : Doha North Sewage Treatment Plant – DNSTP
Problem
Access Covers installed in DNSTP has incurred severe damage due to chemical corrosion from sewer emissions H2S. All access covers on the various location in process plant to be replaced. The leakage of H2S poses serious safety hazard to workers in the plant. Covers to airtight. Covers to be withstand load class 7.5KN/Sqm as per QCS 2014.
Solution
Access Flow designed and supplied precision-engineered custom made Removable Aluminium Access Covers made out of Aluminium Plank Profiles. These Aluminium profiles are made of special marine grade Aluminium 6082-T6 to prevent H2S corrosion and degradation of cover in long term use. Also the Covers have slip resistant serration . The special gaskets were provided at the frame periphery there by creating a seal between the cover and frame. Also the Covers and Frames and fully sealed and locked using SS316 screws. All joints are sealed using special industrial sealant there by reducing the H2S leaks. Cover and Frame were load tested at approved laboratory for load class 7.5KN/Sqm and the maximum load exceed 10KN.
